Samuel Mahaffy , Ph.D. is a non-profit facilitator and consultant. He serves as the Senior Advisor to Salaam Urban Village Association. Born and raised in Eritrea, East Africa, Samuel Mahaffy has a special heart for serving refugee and migrant families from Africa. Samuel Mahaffy has prepared multiple successful grant applications to support the work of Salaam Urban Village Association. He is a skillful visionary who has assisted more than five hundred nonprofits and NGO’s around the world. He facilitates appreciative inquiry visioning, consulting with boards and executive staff, and “stands in the fire” with organizations in conflict. Samuel Mahaffy is one of the most successful grant writers in the Inland Northwest United States. He and his associates have initiated federal, foundation and state grants resulting in more than $11M in new funding for nonprofit causes. Samuel Mahaffy earned his M.A. in linguistics from the University of Michigan. He has working knowledge of seven different languages. He earned his Ph.D. from Tilburg University in the Netherlands through the Taos Institute, of which he is now an associate.
