About SUVA


Salaam Urban Village Association (“SUVA”) is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, currently serving East-African refugees, immigrants, and asylees residing in Greater Seattle Area, WA. Through its culturally relevant services, SUVA strives to create supportive environment to its clients, and ultimately, help them become a contributing member of their society.
 

Mission
SUVA’s mission is to provide charitable and educational services to the immigrant, refugee, and asylee population so that it may lead to higher self-sufficiency and self-reliance.

 

Overarching Goals
SUVA’s foremost interest or goal is to help its clients achieve the level of independence or self-sustainability both in their social and economic lives, and successfully integrate into their new society. As a result of its programs and services, SUVA hopes to achieve safer and tolerant society where each individual not only feels a part of their society, but also becomes a socially-responsible citizen as they productively contribute to the well-being of their communities.
